Paddle `N Pedal
Torn between wanting to enjoy the river and riding the trails? Why not enjoy having the best of both worlds? With the Paddle/Pedal trip you combine a six mile float with a six mile bike ride (or longer). All you have to do is arrive at our office with your bike in tow, and we will provide the canoe or kayak for the float. Take out at Fisherman’s Cove where your bike will be waiting for you. Then you can enjoy a leisurely ride on part of the Rails to Trails bike trail that will lead you back to your vehicle. Call us for more information at 814-388-9122.
Kayak & Coffee
Our early morning floats were well received by locals as well as out of town guests. What’s unique about the coffee and kayaking trips is early in the morning you have the opportunity to see nature as it’s just beginning to stir. The leather back turtles, hellbenders, blue herons, and bald eagles are all sites to be seen. The best part is you get back in time to finish the rest of your day rejuvenated and refreshed. Ladies Only Nights
If you’ve never paddled with us before, we have a once a month ladies night when we meet at OARS for registration then we set sail on a float. After the float, we bring you back to OARS where you will be catered to with a beautiful spread of foods and beverages that is sure to satisfy. We’ll have a fire lit and music playing for the ambience as you unwind, talk about highlights from the float, and meet new people. Sound interesting? Well… The 2013 Ladies Only Night dates are on our event calendar, at the bottom of our home page.
OARS brings you…Kids Float. It’s a day camp which we will be offering throughout the summer at Two Mile Run County Park. Our introduction to kayaking class will give your young kayaker the knowledge and basic skills necessary to have confidence on the water. These basic skills will build a foundation that the kayaker can build upon and enjoy for life. The 2013 Kids Float dates are on our event calendar, at the bottom of our home page.
Last year we decided to try a couple’s night where couples floated on the Allegheny River with their significant others. When they arrived at their destination, a steak dinner and bottle of wine awaited them. We had such a great response and request for more, that we have decided to listen to our customers and implement a once a month couple’s night.
Our couple’s nights are designed with you (our customer) in mind. We want it to be romantic, relaxing, and fun. Where you can meet other couples as well as share memories with ones you may already know for a unique and regular date night.
